BIOS:

ROSEMARY DANIELL is the founder and leader of Zona Rosa, and award-winning author of eight books of poetry and prose, most recently SECRETS OF THE ZONA ROSA: HOW WRITING (AND SISTERHOOD) CAN CHANGE WOMEN'S LIVES, as well as Palimpsest-Prize winner FATAL FLOWERS: ON SIN, SEX AND SUICIDE IN THE DEEP SOUTH, which, along with her second memoir, SLEEPING WITH SOLDIERS, was a forerunner of the current memoir trend, plus a collection of essays, CONFESSIONS OF A (FEMALE) CHAUVINIST, and her ground-breaking collection of poems, A SEXUAL TOUR OF THE DEEP SOUTH. She is profiled in FEMINISTS WHO CHANGED AMERICA, 1963-75 and has appeared in many print interviews, on numerous national television and radio shows, profiled in such magazines as People, Southern Living and The South, and has contributed to such publications at The New York Times Book Review, Harper's Bazaar, Mother Jones, Self, Mademoiselle, Travel and Leisure, New York Woman and other magazines.

DR. CONNIE BAECHLER's awards include Honorable Mention winner in the Rita Dove Poetry Prize, finalist in The Ledge and Concrete Wolf chapbook competitions, fellow at the Hambidge Center and The Writers Colony at Dairy Hollow, Eureka Springs, Arkansas, and other prizes. Connie's work has appeared in Pearl, Kalliope, Hurricane Review, Mad Poets Review and other literary magazines. Two novel manuscripts, HAILEY'S CONFIDENCE and COCONUT MILK, are under consideration. Additionally, she will be poet-in-residence at the University of Arizona for a long weekend in March, and will give a reading during her time there. Connie is also a Star in the Zona Rosa, and a member of Rosemary's Atlanta Zona Rosa Alpha Babes group.

ROSEMARY discussed SECRETS OF THE ZONA ROSA, and how over 50 Zona Rosans, many of them now famous, have become published authors over the past 26 years! Then both ROSEMARY and Zona Rosa Super Star CONNIE each read from their essays in DESIRE: WOMEN WRITE ABOUT WANTING, the mind-blowing new anthology just out from Seal Press. And GERI read her new poem, "Sunday Morning."
